This Weekend

1: My ERMIE Afterparty Print scarf as part of the installation curated by jewelry designer Carly Margolis of ALL FOR THE MOUNTAIN and artist James Weigel aka Owleyes at the Weltenbuerger Store in Los Feliz. Thanks Carly & James!

2. The Weltenbuerger store in Venice is throwing a party to celebrate it's opening- with a DJ set by Leech, and live performance by LA Vampires. 6-10 pm with 10% off everything in the store...that includes ERMIE, Hui Hui, and some killer vintage!

3. Lizz Wasserman is hosting a studio sale for her wonderful line, Popomomo! Lizz is one of my very favorite designers- I appreciate all the thought and hard work that goes into her is the time to snatch up a few of these smart & wearable pieces at bargain prices.

New in the Shop

ERMIE Raku Print Sundress

ERMIE Indigo Skinny Strap Tank, Indigo Skirt
I'm working on getting some more fine linen Indigo tanks in stock, and all Scarves are on SALE with Free Worldwide Shipping!
Bad news; There will be no linen Raku Print items this collection, because the printing did not work out. However, I'm not ruling out some kind of garment being made with this print for the next collection. I've heard through the grapevine that y'all appreciate non-silk items...more that will certainly be a priority in the next collection!

ERMIE + YHBHS Collaboration

Textile designs © Jennifer Parry Dodge

 Top photograph: David John

ERMIE + YHBHS Collaboration...David John and I made some pillows! You can read more about it on his phenomenal (and newly redesigned) blog, You Have Been Here Sometime (YHBS).

David is always a pleasure to work with. He has a wonderful eye, and a knack for spotting the new and relevant in advance of the crowd. In addition to his blog, he designs interiors with Krista Schrock through their company, DISC, and writes and edits for several well regarded publications & websites such as Apartamento, Sight Unseen, and Freunde von Freunden. I look forward to our next project together...whatever it may be!

A few pillows are available for purchase through Product Porch in San Diego.

Yesterday I attended a Saori method weaving workshop. I didn't know what to expect--I had tried to take a weaving class before, but found myself lost and eventually disinterested with so many steps in setting up the loom (ADD). With this class, the loom was already threaded with the all I had to do was...weave! It was incredibly fun. Fumi, the instructor, took the photos of me weaving and wearing the finished's a bit short for a scarf, but it is currently functioning as a nice wall hanging in my living room.
I am intrigued by the possibilities.
A Saori loom and lessons have shot up to items 1 & 2 on my birthday wishlist!
Thank-you Fumi-san and TGS for a lovely, relaxing afternoon.

First: Thanks to all who have placed orders so far! Monday's store opening initiated the largest number of sales I've ever had to date. Your support and business are truly valued!!

Second: It's my understanding that some of you did not receive a confirmation emails for your orders, I'm not sure why this is. I'll be emailing each of you individually, this will take tome time, so bear with me. Be sure to check your junk mail folders; but I do apologize for any inconvenience or confusion that this may have caused.

Third: I have received a lot of questions asking about the printed linen pieces pictured above. Basically, there has been a problem with the printing. The ink is not very colorfast, and washes out very quickly. This did not happen with the first batch of linen that I ordered to make the samples pictured above. I am trying to resolve this with the printer as soon as I can, reorder, and get the pieces sewn...but this may not happen. I will keep you updated!

Please email me at helloermie (at) gmail (dot) com if you have any other questions.
